FRG BVA Auxiliary Scholarship

Two $1000 scholarships are given out each year to a spouse or child of a Blinded Veteran of Florida. While the Blinded Veteran must reside in Florida, the applicant need not.

2011-12 scholarship winner is:
Samantha Hynes.

Scholarships are awarded for college; Universities or Vocational/tech schools. The scholarships have been given to dependents to enhance their careers, enter the work force for what ever reason and has also given dependents the opportunity to advance in their goals.

Our scholarship program begins in January, when a letter about the scholarship application is sent to every Blinded Veteran in the State of Florida.

The next step is for the spouse, child, or veteran to respond to the letter by requesting an application be sent to them.

The applicant completes the application and sends it to the Scholarship Chairperson.

The Chairperson receives the application after the deadline and sends the packets to her committee persons for evaluation. Finally, after all have been rated the committee chairperson announces the winners for the year.

Whether it is for a university, college, or vocational school, thanks to our raffle, membership dues, and generous donations, the Auxiliary has been able to serve and contribute to the Blinded Veterans.

In addition to the FRG BVA Auxiliary Scholarship you may apply for the Kathern Gruber and Rene Feldman Scholarships.

Funds for these scholarships are generated through individual and group donations and raffles. If you would like to make a financial contribution to this very worthwhile endeavor please make a check payable to the FRG BVA Auxiliary along with a note indicating it is for the scholarship fund. We are a 501(C)3 therefore your donation is tax deductible.
